Sea Front, Nairn, Scotland
Description: Boasting an ideal location overlooking the Moray Firth, the Golf View Hotel & Leisure Club in Nairn is an excellent four-star hotel and is absolutely ideal for the golfer, particularly in terms of playing at Nairn and Nairn Dunbar Golf Clubs. Literally adjacent to Nairn Golf Club, host to the 1999 Walker Cup matches, the hotel was home to both the Great Britain & Ireland team and the US team for the duration of the prestigious event. And apart from the golf, the hotel is an excellent base from which to explore the likes of Cawdor Castle, Loch Ness and the Culloden Battlefield.
The hotel offers a total of 42 bedrooms, most of which have undergone recent refurbishment with the aim of creating more spacious accommodation. The interior design mixes the traditional with contemporary elegance and the overall focus is on guest comfort. Many of the rooms are sea facing, while the window seating in the new rooms allows panoramic views over the Moray Firth and mystical Black Isle beyond. All guestrooms offer private bathrooms, while each room has, as standard, complimentary refreshment tray, satellite TV, trouser press and hairdryer.
The Golf View Hotel is renowned for its cuisine and informal meals are served all day in the Conservatory, from where you can watch Archie (the local fisherman) in action during the summer months to be sure that lobster is really freshly caught. Dinner is served in the AA Rosette winning restaurant, which regularly features local seafood, while the Moray Lounge is the ideal spot to round off the evening over a tipple or two. Facility wise, the Golf View Hotel is above and beyond expectations. Guests can relax in the sauna, steam room or spa bath, while the more energetic can avail of the two tennis courts or work out in the gymnasium. The Beauty Salon meanwhile, offers a full range of treatments from massage to facials.
